USB2 question
mookaloid - 23/3/11 at 05:48 PM

I have a PC which is getting on a bit and only has USB1 support. So when I plug a USB2 device into it I get a message that it will perform better if I use a USB2 port.

So question is can I get a USB2 pci card and bung it in the pc to upgrade it to USB2 or is this a something that the MB wouldn't cope with?

Cheers

mooky

I would of thought a USB2 PCI card should work fine.

If you get a USB 2.0 pci card then you will be fine, but you will have to use those ports that are directly on the card.

Something like this is what you should be looking for.

Heh, my laptop does this, and proceeds to show me that I have 3 usb slots and to plug it into one of them with the implication that one or more is this usb2 configuration
