Help / Advice wanted;- Internet painfully slow
Steve Hignett - 13/7/11 at 07:34 PM

Hi All,

Any suggestions please?

My internet is working painfully slow. It's not just the time of day, it's been like this for 2 days. I've shut down and booted up the laptop, tried a different laptop and it's not really improved. I rebooted the modem thingy and no change still...

Thanks in advance...

Steve

You running any per2peer software? Limewire etc, As you've tried the normal stuff, maybe now's the time to bell your isp to see if they are doing any work on the network.

Just out of curiosity how many connection are you accepting, if its windaz, "Start" button then in the "Run" box type cmd and press ok or run and a black dos box should appear, now type netstat and press enter and see how many "Established" connections you have, you can usually ignore the 127.0.0.1 established ones.

Cheers

complain to your ISP - it isn't forced to be your equipment at fault.

It might be your modem but more likely to be something BT have done at the exchange or something

Could be this, have you checked Josef hasn't setup and installed his own network?
