Hi All
My Dad needs a new desktop PC - despite his age (80 very soon!), he's pretty IT savvy and does a lot of photography (I remember he used to have a
darkroom when I was a kid!) so needs something suitable for Photoshopping stuff.
He's been recommended this - http://www.chillblast.com/Chillblast-Fusion-Neutron.html
And seeing as he's considering it, I'd guess his budget is around £500.
Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance
Wyn
Think it depends exactly what he'll be doing with photoshop. But id of thought that pc was way over the top for a casual photoshop user.
looks ok to me.
i would have thought for someone of that age a nice big easy to read screen is a must so that should be a major factor. pc looks up to the job so why
not?
Looks like a very good spec indeed for that price, though arguably way OTT for some photoshopping in terms of the CPU, RAM, etc. For photoshop,
especially for an 80-year old if his eyes are anything like my grandad's , I'd place much bigger importance on a decent screen - at least
a 24". Couldn't live without mine! It's what you spend all your time looking at when using the thing and arguably has a bigger impact
on the overall experience than the bits in the box. If he can afford to spend a little more, I'd suggest the upgrade option to a 24" screen,
or if £500 is a fixed budget I'd suggest considering a different system with the spending skewed less towards the internal components to allow
choosing a 24" screen.
EDIT: ^^^^ see - great minds think alike.
