just got this computer and borrowed a digital camera from work to download pictures of my car to use as an avatar and i cant get the feckin' thing to work.its a fuji camera and the usb cable is plugged in to back of harddrive.any help would be appreciated before this feckin' camera goes back in bits.
have you got a disc that comes with the camera
if its a disc that goes into the computer then no.
I just plug my camera into the computer with the USB cable and it appears as another drive in My Computer
thats only with xp and maybe 2000 (not sure bout 2000)
if its another (windows) os you'll need drivers methinks
try manufacturers website fuji
Sounds like you need the USB Drivers for your camera...
but there's no point loosing patience with something that you knew little about in the first place
Things aren't normally THAT easy are they?
go and buy a car reader......
unless you have a crappy cheapo camera, the memory card will come out. you plug this into a reader unit, which typically also is usb.
diference is, something you buy will have the drivers! the bigger tescos have readrs for a tenner and you can get similar on ebay
atb
steve
should've said before what steve gusto said
"buy a card reader" then you will never use that crappy camera cable ever again
i am a big advocate of the memory card it is just so much better than anything else, quick small reliable and fairly cheap
my new work computer doesn't have a floppy drive just a slot for a memory card
