Hi,

I know some of you guys use solidworks, I have just installed the 2012 edition onto a laptop for my farther in law to learn on (he is an industrial designer with a little bit of experience in solidworks) Just wondering if anyone knows if there is a big difference between 2010 and 2012 version as i would like to get him a learn solidworks book and the good ones seem to be for 2010

Thanks in advance

the basics of solid modelling have not changed, so yes that book will be fine, its only the details that have updated, which a novice (no offence) probably would never notice.
I've been using it since 1997 and its not really changed much.

I take it that's a 'borrowed licence' because its an expensive practice toy.

i really want to know how to use solid works but can't afford it.
