I thought the whole point of MACs was supposed to be you just sit in Starbucks talking to other MAC users about how amazing they are. You want to actually use it?
Hi Paul,
Welcome to the Mac community!
I made the move to the Mac in 2007 after 25 years as a pretty advanced PC user and have never regretted it once. Since then pretty much all of my
family, friends and colleagues have made the switch too. At the place I work just now, even those who don't use Mac OS X still buy MacBook Pros
and then run Linux or in some cases Windows on them. The Mac Mini is a great little machine. My Dad has one and finds it so much less hassle than his
PC which he hardly ever uses now.
If I can help you with anything then please feel free to give me a shout. From my experience of helping family and friends make this transition, the
most difficult thing is usually getting them to unlearn the expectation of having to jump through hoops to get some simple tasks done. The Mac
isn't perfect but does tend to be more consistent in most areas.
Cheers,
Craig.
Craig you really should be getting commision from Apple (perhaps you are lol) - At least Microsoft were/are honest about wanting to take over the world Apple....... 'we're basicaly hippies doing this for the people' meh , I firmly believe the computer that ends the world will have 'Apple' written on it somewhere
Hi All.
Problem 1 is, what do I do with all this space on my computer desk?
The dear little thing (pun intended) is only 200mm square and 40mm high. My mouse pad is bigger than that.
Problem 2 is the terminology. Mission Control, Launch Pad, wtf is that?
I only want to type a reply post, not fly to the Moon.
I'll get the hang of it, eventually.
Cheers,
Paul G
I also switched in 2007 and spent the next few months thinking I'd made a mistake, until I had to do some work on a PC and realised how awkward
it was. The best bit, not getting a pop up every time something I want to happen, happens
Enjoy
