Odd Laptop problem

my favourite Lenovo T60 Lappy with a Solid State hard drive...

Was finding some web sites easily eg Locostbuilders Gmail but struggling with BBC and ebay.

So I thought DNS issue

I tried 2 other machines which both worked perfectly on the same wireless network so it wasn't a network problem.

Tried everything I could think of and have now reloaded windows XP and it's no different

Does this sound like the wireless card perhaps?

The router works fine with 2 other machines so I'm struggling to see how it could be router?

I've a similar unresolved problem with my netbook.
At home it will connect to every website bar this one (LB). Take it anywhere else and it's fine.
I've replaced my router due to an unrelated issue and it's no different.
All my other devices are happy to connect to Locostbuilders. Three IT geeks I know have failed
to find the answer except to suggest a full re-install of XP.

So if yo find the answer I'll be delighted

I have a similar issue but with amazon where 75 % of the pages won't load. can't for the life of me figure it out except it seems to be spreading to marks and Spencer.

It still would appear to be a DNS issue, I would try putting the Google DNS server pair 8,8,8,8 and 8,8,4,4 directly into the the laptops own networking settings.

Tried that - made no difference

I have seen problems like this recently, caused by an 'adobe flash' update.
so some sites using flash, (or adverts on the site using same) would fail to load.
I recommend, remove and re install flash.

I just did that on the g/f laptop. I'll let you know if it made any difference.

Don't think this would apply to mine. As mentioned I did a full fresh XP install and the next thing after installing the wireless drivers was to try some websites and only half of them could be found.

It occurs to me that I should try a wired network connection. If this works then it could well be the wireless card that is flaky.

THat adobe flash issue was virus masqrerading as a flash update..... Get rid of it using MALWAREBYTES + latest update

Just thought you would like to know I shoved the lappy in a corner in disgust but today I got hold of a USB wireless adapter, plugged it in, loaded the driver, connected it to my network and hey presto it works perfectly. I take it out and rely on the internal wireless card and it doesn't work. Plug the usb adapter in and it works.

So it was a dodgy internal wireless card after all.

I don't think I'll bother with a repair as the adapter is so small that it doesn't get in the way and it only cost a fiver
