You need to login in to the router (at this stage it is best to connect via cable) then tick the boxes to activate encryption, usaully the router will have a preset wifi password which will either be on sticker on the bottom of the router which you enter into your computers wifi settings for your wifi network, you then restart the wifi or reboot the router and reconnect.

I'm happy to have a look if you want. I owe you a favor.

It's usually a setting in the control panel for "encryption" settings that does the trick. Look out for settings for WEP, WPA or WPA2 data encryption.

You'll also need to set a phase phrase that your devices will need to use to connect to the router.

It's 192.168.0.1 to get to log into ours, it might be a universal page number for your own router...

Type cmd in your startup search then right click and open it as administrator and type ipconfig then press enter and it will tell you your router address under default gateway, something like 192.168.1.1 then it will ask for a name and password If you haven't changed it usually admin admin in both. Look under wireless set up and you should find somewhere to change your password.
