What is it with ebay users.
I've listed my old e type bonnet and undertray with a 99p start, collect only, no reserve, no buy it now.
The first question, 'do you have a buy it now price and how much to ship to dorset?'
Are these numpties just out to try and wind me up, tempted to reply £2000, paid in advance and I'll hire a van & deliver it myself!

Not car related but a few months ago I sold a printer on e-bay, 99p start and listed it as "not working for spares or repair" even though
it did work. It did have 2 new black inkjet cartridges thus had a bit of value. Well the numpties started bidding and it made £27, why when you can
buy a new one for about the same or less.
After a week the buyer complained it was not working and requested I refund his money. I told him to read the listing and have a nice day. He opened a
case and e-bay refunded him the money, I was at a total loss as to why. He kindly offered to throw the printer away rather than sending it me back, I
ignored him and got the printer back. Guess what, the two new inkjet cartridges had been replaced by 2 virtually empty generic ones but still worked
fine. Complained to e-bay who refunded me the money so now I have the printer and the £27 I sold it for.
A couple of weeks ago I recived an e-mail from e-bay telling me that the buyer had a history of this and they were watching him. He is still buying
and selling on e-bay.
My mate sold a £300 mountain bike on ebay listed as collection only but they buyer said he's pay for a courier. The guy said he wanted a refund as the frame was cracked. My mate refunded the guy and got the bike back and sure enough, the frame did have a crack in it. It was also a completely different colour, make, size etc.....and was just a bare frame with no wheels, forks, brakes, etc! As far as ebay were concerned, he had proof that he'd posted the bike back so they were happy that the problem was resolved...!
I've had similar problems. I sold a brand new, unused DVD recorder. The buyer complained it wasn't working after having it for over a
month.
I told him to send it back, at his expense (as per EBay rules) and I would refund his money. He complained to EBay and got a full refund by giving
them postage details showing he'd sent it back.
The machine I recieved was old, worn out and not working at all.
I complained to EBay, who said the case was closed and I could do nothing about it. I published the buyers name on an EBay forum and earned myself a
warning from EBay that they were going to ban me!
I have over 650 deals with 100% feedback. The buyer had 4 deals, with three out of the four negatives. Go figure.
put some pc bits on there last night, already had three questions asking what my buy it now price is. shouldn't of assumed that because there is no buy it now option people wouldn't ask about it. although by the sound of it even putting "no buy it now" in the add wouldn't of stopped them.
I hate the "what is your buy it now price idiots". Put some old, slightly tatty on the back but strait BMW wheels on the other week. Got the
usual idot asking for a buy it now price. Said £150 since others in a similar condition had been fetching about £120. He came back and said £140 to
which I said OK, never heard from him again.
Bloody glad he dissappered, they went for £177 and a local guy picked them up the day after the auction.
The "buy it now idiot" is one of a long list of "buyers" I have now blocked.
Wow, I just bid and buy. No selling, no returns, no hassle, unless you buy something from China that doesn't work because by the time it arrives its past the date you can do anything.
I havnt sold anything on ebay in months and months but I do have some bits and bobs to sell and will have to bite the bullet sooner or later, chance
my arm at being ripped of.

I've just sold some stuff with Domestic UK postage, and the punk who won the auction lives in Belgium.
What is it with these people; I don't want to send it abroad because it's too much hassle for me and you're probably going to pay with
a paypal account owned by a Nigerian Prince so I won't get the money anyway!!

It's in your ebay settings to block buyers outside the UK if you read through them, no good just writing it in the listing as Johnny Foreigner probably doesn't understand it anyway
Why not just set a buy it now price for those idiots, think of a stupidly high amount, double it then stick a 0 on the end.
Explain at the bottom of your ad that the buy it now price is for the idiots who won't read and think this far

I've had some of my best e-bay bargains by asking sellers for a 'buy it
now' price. Provided it's done correctly it's a very good and legitimate method of obtaining a bargain that you may not get through
auction... I wouldn't ask for a 'buy it now' price, if the ad specifically stated it but otherwise it's my first question on
all potential e-bay purchases..... Worst that can happen is the seller says 'no' or comes back with a price that's unacceptable, in
which case I'll leave it to go through the auction process A friend of mine always replies to the buy it now emails with the price he was hoping to get and sells quite a lot of stuff early. He then gets a
barrage of emails asking him what has happened to the item and complaining because they wanted to bid at the last minute.
