So, I went ahead and bought a very cheap 12" dual boot tablet from china. Took ages to get here and to me its pants...
Came with Windows 8.1 bing that wouldn't install any language packs so yesterday went for the 10 upgrade that appeared on the desktop. That
installs English but all the system stuff is still in Chinese...
I want to roll back to 8.1 and use the usb function to install an English version of 10. Tried to do this but it asks for the product key which I have
but it says its doesn't work!
Now going into the rollback feature it asks if I want to rollback to 8.1 but when I click the button I get this:
Anyone tell me what it says? When i click the button it just goes back to the rollback page...
It says something about making sure you have the power lead in because you don't have enough battery power - in the brownish window.
The bit behind it in the blueish window, not sure, abnormal operation - reset the computer may help something about files

"Into your computers power cord you can not only use battery power situation. please insert the computer's power cord and try
again."
Guess it won't let you do this on battery power alone in case it runs out half way through?
BTW I used the translate app via camera on my Samsung S4 to get this.
So did I Madinvetions lol
Go to your local chinese chippy and get one of their kids to sort it. Have it done in no time!
And there was me getting really impressed with our user base, thinking we had some multilingual members! We should all be learning chinese!
Cheaters!

Cheers, just to add, the back wher your fingers would go gets hot and a fully charged battery just surfing and mucking about lasts about 3 hours
Its a Onda V116W Dual OS....
Does the same thing with the charger connected
http://techtablets.com/onda-v116w/review/
As you've already discovered:
"Update: Reports coming in that the Windows 8.1 Pro Chinese connected edition used on the Onda v116w doesn’t allow you to install language packs
outside of China. If your seller has installed English or the langague you want already your in luck. But upon factory resetting the machine it will
be stuck in Chinese, so be warned!"
The rest of the review isn't exactly glowing either with reports of it running hot and the audio buzzing. Seems like the bad old days of pre-iPad
windows tablets has returned. Any chance you can just return it? If bought by credit card > £100 you should be able to do a charge back if the
vendor won't take it back.
Used paypal I think.
The android side is not bad, not as good as my Lenovo but ill stick with that...
