I have just changed to Mozilla Firefox 1.0 and it is amazing. Loads of free accessories (thanks for the tip on images David Jenkins), like weather bar
at the bottom which is very reliable (so far).
So, what do you use?
Anyone who used an early release of firefox and was disappointed should try version 1.0 - it's a very professional package that works at least as
well as IE.
What makes it even better is that I use it on XP at work, and Mandrake Linux at home, and both look and act identically.

Hi DJ,
Please will you reiterate these image tips? Some sites just won't produce images at all, merely the text.
TIA
the free extensions are well worth a peruse
I have ieview which provides a right click menu option to view the current page in IE (handy for those sites that don't work in Firefox)
and Image zoom which allows you to zoom in on any image on a page.
and finally firesomething which you populate with a set of prime words and it puts silly messages in your title bar
I know it's silly but it amuses me currently my windows says "LocostBuilders - Moist old lard boy"
I was describing how to get Image Zoom working - Tools>Extensions, click on 'Get more extensions'. Download the extension from the
website - easy! It's very useful on this forum when people post huge piccies, as it can be set to automatically shrink images to fit the space
available.
There's also a pretty good FTP extension there, if you need it. I didn't feel the need for the other stuff on there, but it may ring your
chimes...

David
I am still using IE cos it seems to work for me.
I don't understand why everyone seems to have a big downer on it.
I haven't seen a good reason to change as yet it just seems like a lot of hassle to me..........
Not puttong it down, I have used it up till last night. Then I changed and realised that, for what I use the internet for, Firefox was more useful.

If I'm correct - most dubious codes like pop-ups and cr4p are written for IE. That's exactly why I use Firefox...

What do you do with junk mail - read it? Or do with it what you ought to and write "Unsolicited mail - refused" - you rarely see it appear
again, as it cost's the sender even more money!

So on that basis if you're not getting pop-up's or annoying 'other' re-directs and such - stick with it. If it's annoying you
- download and use Firefox, I doubt you will look back!
ive just started using firefox, ad yes it is better, tabbed browsing is just sooo useful
although not all the sites i use (secure login required) work with it

If you're unsure about changing over, load up Firefox and get the extension that allows you to use IE if you need it.
If you end up on a site that just won't work in Firefox, you can right-click and select 'open in IE' - and it does. Simple and
painless.

I've used firefox for about a year now. It’s not a revolution but its good and works well. I like using the centre button to open links in new
tabs automatically.
My advice is to try it, if you don’t like it take it off again (I doubt you will though).
Click on the icon below to go and 'Get Firefox' and try it out.
