Another Win 10 Q - Printer Connection

G'day Everyone,

Who has had hands-on experience with Windows 10? Specifically on the matter of checking the printer connection?

I recently bought a Canon inkjet printer, installed it, and it works fine. I also have a Brother 1240 laserjet printer, whch has always worked fine, until very recently. How can I check this printer's connection with my PC?

I think I may have altered something, a few days ago, when I had to re-connect my old PC, in order to access some old archive files. However, on using the Win_10 "devices" button, this printer shows up as connected. What do I need to do to resolve this glitch?

On my Win 10, if I right click on the printer and go to printer properties, the new window has a maintenance tab which has a 'view printer status'. Seems to actually interrogate the printer so might show what's wrong.

Another tip I've had is to plug it into another USB port, it seems to recognise it as a new device if the original is a bit messed up.
