Hi Guys,
When I try and log on to the Locost Builders site, I get the following:
Sort your DNS out!
Not being too clever with all things computerised, I've been able to suss that DNS stands for Domain Name System. Anyone able to point me in the
right direction?
Regards, Ian.
Ian there is a thread running on this, in Website forum:- I'll post the link but my guess is that you wont be able to use it!

Thanks Fozzie,
I can log on thru Explorer but not thru AOL. Have tried all the suggestions on the link you provided, but no luck. According to Chris, the problem is
solved!
It sounds like yor ISPs DNS server has got a corrupt database -- it usually sorts itself after 24 hours when the server updates its database from
other DNS servers on the internet.
If you have a dial up or broadband connection your computer should pick up its dns server ip address from your ISP when you connect.
A dns server is a bit like a telephone book, your computer has to know the IP address of at least one DNS server so that it can translate
www.locostbuilders.co.uk into its actual numerical ip address. Usually included with your sign up info is the address of 2 servers - primary and
backup.
DNS servers are not 100% reliable (some ISPs more tha others one of the reasons I switched from BT)
Your pc can use up to 3 dns servers which can be entered in your dial up connection or TCP/IP network settings However these days for a dynamic IP
account most ISPs normally set the server addresses automatically via dchp when your connection logs on an this takes precedence over preset
values.
