PS2 through PC screen?
Jasper - 3/2/05 at 08:06 PM

So I have the new PS2, and I have a logitech (Momo Racing) wheel and pedals. How the hell do I use them through the TV when all I have between the sofa and the TV is a low coffee table? I've nothing to clamp it too?

And with GT4 on the way soon, I would like to use the wheel on the PS2.

So, question is, can I connect a PS2 to a new flat screen computer (Dell) monitor at my desk? It's just a regular monitor, not one thats meant to be used as a TV.

I think you need to use a TV tuner, and a cable. I have tried with an xbox, and works well, although on a full screen (19ins), the lag makes you feel slightly ill

oh my god i don't believe it i sat down at my desk to write the exact same question

i have a ps2 and logitech wheel and pedals coming tomorrow ready for gt4

i will play lfs for now though

i wanted to know if there was a more elegant way to play ps2 on pc screen other than through tuner and tv out on grapics card

I looked into this myself a while ago but everything seemed to be about £50 so I didn't bother. £23 sounds a bit more like it, anyone got any experience of this product? It also says it is "only compatible with certain games", I hope that includes GT4

I've tried this using a TV card in the p.c. with an AV input, the problem is monitors are too damn sharp and you end up with a jaggy image, a tv screen being essentially crap (dont know about these new fangled 100Hz jobbies though) gives lots of nice anti aliasing for free, you pay through the nose for a card to produce an image on a p.c. thats looks as good as GT3 on a tv.

Oh by the way my old wheel logitech GT force is basically the same as some P.C. wheel so you can get windows drivers for it and use it for grand prix legends and GP4 and stuff with force feedback, though not as nice as a sidewinder FF it still works well, don't know if this is the case with teir newer product but worth a look.

Just another thought - what happens to the sound when using one of these boxes?

Theres a digital optical out on a PS2...just plug that into your PC optical in...if you have one! Alternatively plug the optical into you stereo system.

I just have crappy old little PC speakers, presumeably I just plug them into the Venom box....

If its the venom you want it says it has a mini-jack in and out. So yes you can just plug your speakers into that it would seem
