Voice recordings

Does anyone know how I would make voice recordings with a microphone onto my laptop to then burn to a CD?

Zetec,

Windows is packaged with Sound Recorder (probably accessed via start ->accessories -> Entertainment -> Sound Recorder) which will let you record with a microphone to produce .wav files

Then Nero or Media Player will have a wizard to create audio CDs from audio files. Windows itself might allow you to do this simply by draging the files in to the CDRW window and then when you click 'burn these files to CD' it will prompt for if you want it to be a data or audio CD.

HTHs

Also there should be a jack input on your laptop for your microphone to plug into. If it aint got one you're knackered mate
