I installed the Fasterfox extension for Firefox today -- it makes a BIG difference to web page loading performance -- very impressed made a bigger difference than the switch from a 512 to a 1meg connection.
How you any idea what's changed? Does it still block pop-up's? If so - I feel an install coming on
Is that version 1.0.7?

I've been running version 1.04 till this morning, , when I loaded 1.07 on the NT4 box upgrdes since 1.01 have mainly been minor bug and security
fixes. The Linux box is running 1.02.
I have loaded 5 extensions to Firefox that I actually use and recommend.
SpoofStick which helps spot spoofed site ips.
ShowIP -- displays sites numerical IP address in status bars -- again helps spot spoofed/hijacked domain names..
FireFtp a proper ftp program that runs with in Firefox java window.
Dr Web online virus checker for submitting suspect files for virus checking before downloading them,
Customize Google -- exactly what it says on the tin.
FasterFox
I have tried a few others but some cause more problems than they solve.

Just loaded fasterfox.... OMG and a few other extensions... must be down to simplified coding as it's really fast... with no apparent loss in
integrity.
You don't fancy the 1.5 Beta then
FasterFox makes a hell of a difference on my office computer (XP) but doesn't add much to the home Linux version - I guess it's tuned for
Windoze.

I think I did that when it was first mentioned - but I'll check tonight.

BTW: Firefox 1.07 is now available as an update, for whoever uses it.
got the new version of firefox and fasterfox add-on - grease lightening
Just watch out if your ISP caps your data - FastFox works by pre-loading all the links on a page and putting them into a cache. This means you ship a
lot more data!
You can set the amount of pre-loading to reduce this, if required.

IIRC all faster fox does is tweak settings that you can tweak for yourself by opening this url: about:config
of course the trick is, is to know which settings to tweak
