Sure can , CD writers are really cheeeeeep (£20 25 ) now 'cos most people fit a DVD writer £40 50 which can still write CD's etc. or you could write them to a DVD (4.7gb) = loads of pics.

Or you could install another hard drive alongside your C drive £40 ish for an 80gb.

CD RW drives are stupidly cheap now.

Even a Sony one will set you back only £15-20

Once you get them on CD you can delete them from your drive.

You can get a dual layer DVD write for about £30...

or you could get a photobucket account upload them all onto there and then you can access them wherever you are and can delete them

DVD/CD-RW Combo drive is the best budget option.

only problem with some of these online accounts is they can be shutdown without much warning. about a year ago i had a lot of photos stored online, forget the name of the service, but it basically dissapeared in the space of about 2 weeks and i never saw the notice on the site so lost a lot of photos.

when you get the dvd/cd writer, make sure you write at least 2 separate copies of the files/pictures - just in case, before deleting them off your hard drive
disks are dirt cheap
