right
in a folder window navigate to the diryou want a list of, copy the address

then in dos window click the little "C:" in the top left menu
edit
paste

edit the pasted line to read
cd followed by the dir you want a list of, press enter dos should be in the dir now

then type
dir > list.txt

this will generate a text file of all the files in that folder,

I'm no expert but it works and is how i do itin work, there is probably an easier way

thanks have done it throught the dos window, who would of thought that you still need to use dos to get a directory listing.

k33ts dos window is also called commend prompt in the accessories section of windows.

Iye dont know there born some foke,

Line printers the size of of a small car in a room that you had to wear ear protectors.

Manuall load vacume tape drives that used to pull EOT markers off regular.

Ermergency scratch pool tape jobs at 3.00 am in the morning 'caus you had run out of scratch media.

Disk drives the size of twin tubs with removable plater Disks. That you had to go through a startup sequence just to get them to spin up.

Reading the binary lights of the back of the mainframe to see why the bugger wont boot.

Purchasing 32 kb Memory upgrade for mainframe costing £ 250,000

Try and tell the kids today that and they would not belive you !

Go to the Start menu, and click on 'run'. Type in cmd.

When you've finished, either type exit or just close the window with the top-right 'x' icon.
