Can anyone help.
Currently trying to boot up in MSDOS but so far unsucessful. Can anyone tell me how to boot up into MSDOS and not operatinfg system (ME). I know that
you can run a session through windows but I need to boot up into msdos. Any help would be appreciated.
Regards,
Tri.
Press F8 before Windows starts to boot, but after POST. Basically once your PC has finished testing memory etc keep pressing F8 (ie press press press, not hold) and you'll get a menu from which you can choose MSDOS.
AFAIK there is not MSDOS option in WinME.
Although Win ME is based on DOS still, it has been altered by Microsoft to make it pretty much impossible for you to actually boot into real-mode DOS.
If you have to run a program that makes direct use of the hardware then you may struggle with Windows ME.
Best bet would be to add another disk partition to your system, and install MS-DOS or PC-DOS into it, and then alter your boot loader so you can
choose to boot into a real DOS system. If you're not into computers though, this could be a real challenge for you.
Hope that at least explains a little more
Cheers
