about 2 weeks ago, i stopped being able to sign on to msn messenger live. still can on msn messenger, the old one. but the now live one, no go, was fine for ages, now wont work. tried loads of virus scans, and restarts. firewall says its alowed in the exceptions. deleted the msn program and reloaded it a few times.

deleted all my cookies and temo internet files. tried system restore, but that wont actually work at all..... i have a laptop. help help help???

doing my head in now.

Let me guess, u downloaded an update when it prompted you?

That always ***** it up!

If so just download a fresh version http://get.live.com/

If not run the auto diagnostic on it. chances are ur Firewall if picking it up as a new bit of software but not asking you to confirm if it can access the new because its in the same location as the old msn/live messenger.

they told heR to mess in the registry!

sOW I DID THAT PART and it worked.

You should delete a special folder in the register, then while connecting it download new info and you are up and running again. will ask her for the document they send her. in that way you can sign on again.

have run the auto diagnostic more times thatn i can remember, says its all working perfectly, wich it aint!!!!!1

when i down load a new version, even after deleting cookies and files etc etc, it still has my username etc stored, so something is not going right.....

contact msn maybe they even faster respond as i do!!

provide them your msn account (no password) and live version you use.

then you should be able to get an answer just as my mum did!

they just replied with yet again the same reply, my flamin firewall etc etc, standard email reply i guess as had it 3 times so far.......... i think i might just scream soon....................: mad:

try web messenger ! see if its anything with your account?

THEN
Try trillian or some other messanger that uses MSN. least then u can get on !

i can get in with the old version, that works. but crap. i use the web cam etc and the old version wont allow it any longer.... i chat alot to mates etc on the live/new one, so stressing me out........ as you can prob tell.......

get trillian that will let u log on till u can sort it

Thats what the makers say about it. shoudl get u up n running till u can sort out ur msn client
