Vista is finally out!!

Well sort of ....... if you know where to find it that is.
I recently installed it (along with Office 2007 & Autoroute 2007 and I must say that I am quite impressed so far.

Anyone using it yet?

Ive been using Office 07 for about 6 months now very impressed. Makes it very easy to produce clean, clear good looking presentations

Deffinatly recomend

The beta versions of Office were quite buggy but the RTM version that just got 'released' last week is brilliant.

The way you are talking you sound like Billy Gates love child... Think out of the box and get a proper OS like Ubantu LINUX .
If you can think out of the box Carwize why not computers..

I am actually using Ubantu on one of my systems and it is the best Linux so far imo, but I run lots of graphics & audio editing related progs which unfortunately need Bill's finest to run.

Ubuntu is great if you just need a basic office machine though. No virus problems with either os (which is a first for Bill)

So microsoft kerching (tm) is finally out. Does it do something that my current windows doesnt? I can currently start and stop my applications as well as save and retrieve data. Why would I pay extra for the same thing?

Also, does it still have the Abort / Fail / Retry / Ignore error that has been in MS operating systems since DOS 1.0?

Although I have only used it for a few days now, I think that it is has evolved into a far more capable and grown up form of Windoze.
Think of all the extras that you have tried in the past in an effort to get XP (or even 98) to run properly - add-on apps that clean, tune and generally change the os to what you really wanted in the first place. Vista has put all of these add-ons into the os so you can fine tune everything to your taste straight out of the box.

I suppose if you just want a box to run basic word processing, internet access and perhaps the odd game, then Win98 (or even DOS in some cases) will probably fit the bill. Personally I like to experiment with new things

One advantage of working for a Microsoft gold partner is of course access to all the software.

I'll be trying Vista to use my dual core processor more efficiently. Not sure if I should use the 64bit version yet though?

Bimble - I have the 64 bit version of Windoze but SCARED of installing it as I heard it was full of bugs and most software doesn't support it, don't strat on the video cards or other related hardware!

Is anyone on here using XP Pro 64 Bit?

Im not no, but why use it at all? are you wanting to access terrabytes of ram? at a guess id say no,
Just going to 64bit will give you no extra speed
