Website Domain registration sites
Hammerhead - 20/12/06 at 12:12 PM

Can anyone recommend a good website domain name registration site? I am looking for one that offers free web diversion, so I can use some web space I have paid for already.

Alternatively are there any that provide free webspace?

Help as always appreciated.

Thanks.

Try claranet.co.uk They may have what you are looking for. My son is into all that and has used it for our websites. Cheers, Pewe.

I've used www.123reg.co.uk for the past few years, now owned by Pipex so they shouldn't disappear any time soon. Nice photo of the 'hoff on the front page too

I think they've got a limited price offer on .com names at teh moment (1/2 price?)

www.easily.co.uk for .co.uk's and joker.com for .com/.net/.org/etc

I use
http://www.easyinternetsolutions.co.uk

£8.99 for 2 years domain name & free hosting, with most of the bells & whistles, MySQL, fantastico etc - they've been good so far, been with them about a month

another vote for www.easily.co.uk - have used them for a while and always been reliable

I vote for www.1and1.co.uk as well - registered a few domain names with them: usually something like about £2 a year for .co.uk or £8.99 for .com, and I sign up to the minimum mail package which also lets you forward the domain name to somewhere else, e.g. my son's band has a relevant domain name but it actually points to a Myspace site

Our company uses claranet, they're not too bad but seem to have the odd issue with their email servers now and then. I've used 123reg a few times for personal stuff, no complaints at all.

godaddy

Cheap, fully configurable via web portal and don't try and charge you a fortune for transferring domains in/out
