I have been using a BT Voyager 2091 Router for the past 12 months or so and up until about a month ago it was fine, although slow on the wireless
conection at times, now, however, it seems to drop the connection veery frequently and I have had a couple of problems using the USB connection to my
desktop.
I am coming to the conclusion that I need a new router can anybody suggest a good reliable replacement?
l'd recommend pretty much anything by D-Link. l'm running a fairly old router and modem combo which has been going great for more than
2years. my dad has 'recently' gone wireless, and his newer D-Link (with modem built in) has been going strong for about a year. He also said
it was very simple to set up, no more than 5 mins.

On quick fix may be to just change the wireless channel on your router. I had the same problem when someone near by set up their router and just caused interferrence.
Thanks for the suggestions will try the channel for a starter
When picking a channel try sticking to 1, 6 or 11 as they are the only ones that are not interfering with each other if you choose say channel 3 you
will have interference from people using 1 and 6. Wireless LAN can handle other access point on the same frequency much better than interference from
adjacent channels.

Yes try other channels also if you get another router get one that the aerial unscrews on so you can use a remote aerial even a small one will make a
big difference to both signal strength and quality. I also would recommend D-Link.
For you desktop it is better to use an ethernet connection than a USB -----
