Micro Bill System?????????
DavidM - 24/7/07 at 06:57 PM

I keep getting a pop up on my computer generated no doubt by some sad work shy toss pot.
It's called MBS (Micro Bill Systems) and it says that I owe it £39.99 for use of a porn site starting from tomorrow. (Each day it says it starts from the following day, if you know what I mean).
It says I can't get rid unless I pay the money, and also that if I don't pay it will have serious consequences for my credit rating.
I'm assuming, as I've not signed up for anything that they don't actually know who I am so wouldn't be able to pursue it.
So how do I get rid? Adaware didn't sort it out.

I hate things like this. Any help appreciated.

Thanks,

David

i would recommend removing the link, clicking on it may give everyone else the adware/virus whatever it is...

Ooops, didn't think of that. Now removed.

There appears to be a solution using system restore. I’ll post what I remember was done to resolve this on our pc. If anyone sees any flaws in this, please don’t hesitate to correct.

The switching off and switching on the System Restore points is pretty crucial, I understand.

Start > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore

Select a Restore Point well before the activity

Restore System

Then System Restore Setting - turn off System Restore >OK

Come out, then go in and reverse (i.e. turn on System Restore >OK)

For anyone who want to avoid this sort of problem I recommend switching to Firefox and adding a couple of addons --- (1) Addblock and (2) Adblock Filterset.G Updater.

Here is a link to a puka removal method from myantispyware.com

Thanks Trident, will ask my lad to try your suggestions, as he's less likely to make a mess of it.

I would agree - restoring to an earlier time should sort it out. Just don't go on that porn site again!!!
