My Mrs is going on a course and wants us to get a web cam so she can talk to the kids and say hello, how is this done, ie do you have to be joined to a web based web cam club/server. Any ieas please. Thanks.

msn messenger does it! all free.

I use my webcam via MSN Messenger. Can type away all evening on that and have the webcam running at the same time. It can be downloaded via the MSN homepage

you can use most digital cameras as a webcam.

I find that Skype gives a better picture and framerate than MSN
