Asda and tesco had some cracking deals on acer stuff recently, maybe worth a look, downside though all have vista preloaded. nicely spec'd for xp pro though

if you know anyone going to or come over from america you could get a good deal there, been looking for myself and a mate, i found a sony for £318 (including delivery and tax in america ) with good spec, http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8551827&type=product&id=1188561005895

Comet had a good deal on a locost Toshiba

Also lots of good deals on Fujitsu-Siemens ---- which are very very reliable pro grade equipment.

Beware Acer --- never had a good experience with any PC made by them
