I have a headcamera which records to a media player with both internal and SD card memory.
The spec says it creates MP4 files.
Recordings play fine on the media player but when downloaded to my laptop (running Vista) they appear with a 3GP file extension.
From what I have found on the 'net, this is a standardised file format agreed between various manufacturers and should play on virtually anything
such as Quicktime or Realplayer.
I can't get it to run on anything, it keeps reporting that the format is not supported.
Is anyone else using this type of file who may be able to give me a clue where I am going wrong?
Neil
Oh yes, in English if possible. I'm only a simple soul!
I use vlc player (its free), not sure if its ok with vista though

Real player has always worked ok for playing 3GP, but could try downloading one of the codec packs such as K-Lite, and following these instructions
i use vlc player on vista it plays everything and never misses a beat
