Hi,can anyone help please.
I am looking for a Solidworks programme for my PC.
any suggestions will be gratefully accepted.
It must be SOLIDWORKS though,as I need to practice using it so that I can teach and use it at the technical college where I now work.........
NB.The college has it all fully licensed etc but I need a version just for home use..
Thanks in advance,
Dean.........

If you're a bone fide academic then you qualify for a V cheap "student" version?
you'd be best looking on the torrent sites for a cracked copy.
the genuine copy i have on my laptop was hideously expensive
try get the same version as you're using at college so anything you do at home or at college can be opened in both copies as it's not back
compatible.
if you have vista, the only version it'll run is 2008.

Each license of SolidWorks can be installed in two locations fully legally. If you are the main user then you can use it at work and at home, just take the dongle with you. Or its is 2007 or newer, then no need for a dongle, just activate it in 2 locations.
Hi,the version that we have at college works through the company server only, although there are a couple of laptops with it fully loaded onto but they
need a dongle to work at home apparently.
I am a bona fide college instructor if does that qualify me for the student version?
Hope this makes sense.
What I would really like is to load a version onto my home PC for my own use and practise ...

Sorted now thanks.
Yeah, I got a free student copy as I'm doing MechEng at university, I would have let u have the key (as it seems you have a legitimate academic
reason for it ) that I used.
However, on vista it gives some very strange artifacts on the screen unfortunately.
