Can anyone tell me how to edit a dvd-rw? Weve recorded a load of episodes from the telly on a dvd recorder, and now the rw disc is full, i wanted to crop the adverts out and make some menus up and burn it onto a permanent disc. I know how to do this when it comes off the video camera, but cant seem to do it with the files that are on the rw disc. Moviemaker doesnt want to import them, and cant see a way of doing it on nero. Can anyone help please?? Also, there doesnt seem to be as many files on the disc as there is individual recordings
I think if you've filled it up you'll have to blank it then refill it from scratch like a new disk.
Chopping video and creating menus needs seperate software I beleive, though some of the posh nero versions might have video/dvd editing software
included.
nero and windows moviemaker both have the software to do it, i just dont know how to get it into a format they recognise. Im not trying to do it on the dvd recorder, ive got all the video on a disc, i expected to be able to put it into movie maker crop all the rubbish out and seperate the bits i want, then burn it with new menus and titles in nero as i would with video camera footage.
What format does your DVD recorder store in? If it's in standard dvd video format you'll need to rip it first.
yes i think it is standard dvd format, it has the two folders on the disc: video ts and video rm. they contain 2 nero media files, IFO, BUP, and VOB files. None of these play individually, but they never do when you explore a dvd, so i assume theyre not the individual episodes, also theres not enough of each to be. Sounds like your right it might need ripping into maybe an avi??? How would i do that? Thanks
