Any recomendations on a wirless router for my phone line broadband connection much appreciated, my son is nagging me so he can use his laptop or go gaming online with the wii
Go with an "n" one, that's the new system with three antenna. Much better range than the older types - mine doesn't reach the back bedroom!

netgear is a excellent make, always good stuff, never had a problem yet with one
I got a buffalo air station last month, and it's great. It links to the wii via a special secure connection that is set up by pressing one button
on the top of the router.

Just bought a toshiba laptop and belkin wireless router from pc world on their latest offer. Router was awkward to set up but works as good as good as my asdl modem. The belkin router is only 54meg but as my connection speed is poor anyway it works ok
Dont buy a netgear if you want to go online with the Wii. Go to the nintendo website to check for router compatability,
here
I have just bought a Thompson Speedtouch 810 off flea bay for£8 and it works perfedctly with the Wii, DS and a belkin Gaming adapter for the XBOX
:-)
If you get one of these and need help setting it up U2U me

i know of a company that would sell you one for trade price but i'm not alowed to tell you about it or i get told off by fozzie and chris
Iv got a linksys one. peice of wee to set up and hasnt let me down yet.
My mum has a netgear one. Right pain to get it set up and doesnt seem to want to work with vista so shes now got my linksys.
We have all assumed you are not on cable -- in which case your requirements are different.
One thing I should have added, is to check that anything you buy is ADSL2+ compatible to make more future proof.
ADSL2+ is twice as fast as normal ADSL over the same distance a few ISPs such as O2 are already using it

Thanks BT and everyone, yes i am broadband through phoone line and after a morning searching and reading i've got the ADSL2 thing in my head
now.
I'll be at a point of going shopping after the weekend,or maybe giving someone(not mentioning any names as i might get banned for a week or 3) a
call i know in the lincs area
theres a big PC world in lincoln i hear
I really really really really don't want to spoil a sale for anybody but bear in mind that swapping ISP's is easy and you could get a
router & ADSL2
see http://broadband.o2.co.uk/
BT i know your right re swapping ISP but i have a deal with talk talk which enables me to phone mates in other countries for nowt , i know some have
problems with talk talk but in the last year i have been very happy and 2meg download speed is more than enough for my use.
I have a total monthly bill for around £24 on avarage all in so its working well for me, so i only have a few £ of mobile numbers on that charge.
