Im having bother geting music from a disc into itunes. Its a disc a mate did for me, already in MP3 format.
If i stick normal cd in it imports it automatically. From this disc ive tried importing manually but it seem to stick each track into a different
album cover and i dont know how to get all the tracks under the one cover.
Looking for a numpties guide please!
Just stuck another disc in where there is only one album on it - and itunes is importing automatically.
Its obviously this other disc - maybe cos its got loads of albums on one and all are already in MP3. Must be a way to manually import - im obviously
doing it wrong.
can't you put the files on the c: drive first, then sort them out as normal?
Ive just tried that.
One of the albums i had trouble with a while back has just imported no problem at all.
Another one though is importing each track as a seperate album. It must be something to do with the way the tracks are listed on the cd (and now on
c-drive). Ill have to compare the 2 files later to try and suss out what the difference. At least with them on the c-drive (in my music) i can rename
the tracks.
When i view the 2 albums in my computer - one is listed with all the details listed such as album name, track number etc. The one that doesnt import
easily only has half the data - dont know if this si anything to do with it.
When the iffy one imports all the tracks as seperate album covers, i cant drag and drop the tracks under one as each cover is listed with the track
name and hence i tunes says they are seperate albums. Im a bit stumped.

Darren - select all of the tracks in iTunes from the dodgy album. Right click and go to Get Info. From here go to the bottom left corner, there is a
small check box marked Part of Compilation. Set this to Yes - sometimes you get this with single artist albums cos the ID3 tags are
slightly different. Doing this in your case should sort it out.

Woohooo, sorted.
First job was to put the albums into My Music. Then add folders. As Steve says - if they appear seperately select them all and get info - then set up
as an album. This time it all worked. Some tracks still were a bit rogue but i just deleted them off.
Problem now is that my itunes library is far bigger than my ickle 4gig ipod - but ive sussed how to sync only the selected tracks.
Just found my sex pistols cd as well - what a night. You wouldnt believe how diverse my collection is!!!
