Right i know sod all about pc's so here we go.

I have a DELL pc which has a CDR drive in it and i need a DVDr drive. Can i buy a dvdr drive and plug it in some where or can i replace the cdr drive for a cdr/dvdr drive? How hard is it to change the drive?

Plus i need it as cheap as possible.

Sorry for being a dumb arse!

theres always the usb option. bought a dvd rw last year, got a feature called light scribe (it can write a lable on special cds and dvds) and runs fine on my laptop which must be about 6 years old now

If it's got a CDR drive it will almost certainly be an IDE/PATA interface. You can just buy a DVDR/RW drive (cheap as chips these days) and replace the CDR drive with it, ensuring you use the same jumper option (Master/Slave/CS).

If you want to keep the CDR drive then you can add the DVDR/RW drive to the system provided you have a spare power and IDE connector.
