Laptop `power` plug ?
clairetoo - 8/6/08 at 06:48 AM

I need to run my laptop (an old Toshiba Satelite Pro) in my car for mapping , I`ve bought a power supply to plug into a fag lighter socket , but although it comes with a range of plugs theres not one that fits
I did `bodge` the nearest fitting one , but the tiny pin inside broke off , leaving me a bit stuck
Anyone know where I can buy just the plug to suit , or better still got a dead mains adapter hanging around that I could scroung the plug off ?
Its 6.5mm outside , with a 3mm center hole .

My laptop, the pin is in the computer end, not the adaptor. If the pin is broken do you not need to replace the lappy socket ?

It's cuz I is bald innit

The socket is fine - the nearest plug that came with the power supply had a small pin inside which I bent to make it work - till it broke off

Maplin FM47B

6.5 / 3.1

Should do at 89P

I may have one but measuring thingy is at the garage. If you don't have a handy Maplin send U2U with address and I'll get you one to try.

Are you blonde enough to need telling you have to get the polarity right ?
