Does anyone on here know of a nice simple bit of software that i can use to play about with colours on my car before taking the plunge and getting
some paint?
ideally i'd like to be able to try wings, bonnet etc in contrasting colours and play about until i get something i like.
didnt want to have to buy expensive software and go on a course just to do this one thing, so thought i'd ask the fount of all knowledge.....
you lot. :-)

GIMP is free, check out http://gimp-win.sourceforge.net/stable.html
Bit hard to get to grips with, but then again so is photoshop! At least it's free though

I can't help with you the program, but I'd just like to say:
When I chose the colour of my car, I gave little thought to the colour of the arches - Mostly because they're usually always black.
Well I did like the front arches in Black, but wish I'd done the rear arches in Body colour as I think it would of looked better...

like that colour. i think the rear arches look good in black. i was considering a similar thing.
trouble is the vindicator is an ugly beast, (but i like it!) so what looks good on a locost may not on a vindi. will deffo try that colour out though.
I think you made the right choice (not that this quick 'shop does it full justice.)
FYI it was done on Paintshop Pro 7 which is old enough to find as a free down load if you do some hunting (or bit torrent/limewire etc)
