where the heck do I find the icons such as

Favorites, refresh etc and also how do I create a favorite such as locostbuilders and get the icon onto the screen ?

On mine, when I connect with Explorer to the home page there is a menu bar with favourites etc. Adding favourites is as before - right click on favourites and add.

The Menu bar may be hidden by stupid Yahoo bar- right click on whatever is at the top of the page and clear anything until you hit Menu Bar.

Refresh is at right of the top line showing what Internet explorer is connected to - next to a red cross.

I agree Vista GUI is pants

I thought Vista is just a bling new GUI for XP That's why it runs so slowly!!!
