We're moving our shop and I was wondering if there is a SIMPLE to use (and FREE ) bit of software I can use to plan the new layout.
Just something I can draw walls/doors etc with and then place some cabinets .....
Ikea do a bit of room planning software for free, check their website.
Very easy to use and models it all up in 3D as well.
You may be limited to their size cabinets though , however there is a large range and goods for ideas,

Graph paper to draw the outline of the room and then sheets of tracing paper over the top to try out different layouts - I'm completely serious btw! we (Architects for M&S among other things)still use the tracing paper over room outline method on a regular basis as it's quicker than using any kind of CAD for quickly trying out ideas
Ikea one is too inflexible and just for kitchens, but thanks for the try

Paper, pen and some scissors.
Draw the various units, furniture etc to scale, cut them out. Draw the room shape... Have a few hours of fun moving all the bits of paper around and
voila!!
Daughter in law bought some interior design cad from PCWorld the other day for £4 easy to use as well, ideal home I think it was called or something
similar.
Cheers,
Bob
