what do you think is it real?

Dear valued PayPal member,

It has come to our attention that your PayPal account information needs to be updated as part of our continuing commitment to protect your account and to reduce the instance of fraud on our website. If you could please take 5-10 minutes out of your online experience and update your personal records you will not run into any future problems with the online service.

However, failure to update your records will result in account suspension. Please update your records on or before September 10, 2008.

Once you have updated your account records, your PayPal session will not be interrupted and will continue as normal.

It's a phishing email

Real mails from Paypal will have your name / userid in it.

If you get emails like this, log into paypal from the home page you type in to see if you have any alerts from tehm. Ditto for ebay / online banking / pretty much anything...

I think suspect. don't they always say that organisations wil never contact you asking you to input information.

This has happened several times on various programs to do with on line fraud.

forward the email to paypal if in doubt.

You did the right thing. No bank or anything will send you anything of the like. Never.
