Depends on what speed you're paying for
I'm with Virginmedia (ex-telewest and blueyonder) I've had 4Mb line for ages, then yesterday they upgraded it to 10Mb for free.
It's not the cheapest, but after reading the horror stories of ISDN et al I'm sticking with it

virgin (ex nt hell)
2mb link, was on 4mb but downgraded, didn't see hte point in paying the extra cash, i now get broadband, phone and freeview off them for 20 quid
a month. Seems a good deal to me.
With Virgin Media basic package whatever speed that's suppose to be doesn't look go compared to Fozzie
Dave.............

All free upgrades are complete Fozzie, you just need to reboot your modem.
Easiest way is to unplug the power lead from the back for a few seconds

I have found that anyone who sees low download speeds is normally being throttled by their ISP. Too much downloading...

Damn!! Virgin media for me too

Its going to be a while before I get to check out the speeds properly at home but thought it would be interesting to see what its like over here in
Germany.
Seems like you get a good upload speed over here as well.
Then I thought about an RDP connection to home so tried that and got the following.......
Of course it cold be the RDP Session that is affecting the result (or a dodgy server) but it looks like I will be ringing Virgin Media when I come
back around Christmas time, asking them to explain why their '10 Meg' isn't...
All the best from Hamburg,
John.
Mine has slowed to a crawl since last night. Strange thing is that my ISP is AOL, and this test claims it's the Carphone Warehouse?
Woo, i've come back off traffic management
What do the figures mean???? double dutch to me.
That's a fancy old website. Been using the Gadget Show's test bu I'm sold in this one.
Thought I'd have a go atgetting the slowest result for LocostBuilders! Whilst away from home I'm using a 'Three' 3G dongle in an
area near Slough with bugger all mobile reception...
I pay for 8Mb - live about 2 miles from the exchange...
