Hi, wondered if anyone on here using Avast AV?

I have been using the full paid for edition of AVG 8. Downloaded and ran free edition of Avast and it finds 2 probs straightaway!

Win32:Small-MAM(Trj)
Win32:AutoIt-S(Trj)

Looking to try it for a while in case AVG is causing my Browser problems but wondered how good it was?

Another vote for Avast.

You'll find that you don't get massive updates from Avast, like you do with AVG - you do get updates, but they're much more discrete and don't interfere with whatever you're doing.

OK guys,

Thanks fo the replies.

Looks like I'll keep using it instead of AVG.

Word of caution
I am not a big fan of either program (only because they don't have professional looking interfaces) but I think what you have are false positives --- all anti-virus programs produce false positives to varying degrees , so you will always get conflicting results if you run them back to back. However I have had it suggested to me that one or too shareware av programs produce false positives as a deliberate sales tactic.

The brand new version of Avira AntiVir premium edition truly rocks --- anybody using it should download a fresh copy and do a modify instal to take advantage of the new web protect feature.
