I need to tow a trailer this afternoon, but I don't have my spare number plate with me or my reg doc. I don't have time to go home to get
them either.
I do have a computer and a colour laser printer and a laminating machine, How can I produce a number plate?
Cheers
Mark
Hi Mark
You can buy the font from people on ebay.
Or failing that, go to one of the private reg sites, like New Reg, and input your reg.
If it won't display your's, get the front half and the back half.
Then print screen and muck about in "paint" or whatever you have until it's the right size.

i have got the MANDATOR.ttf font if you want it... u2u your email address.... if you have a mac then i believe i have the font that version also.
TBH if you printed it a decent size, a simple black and white laminated sheet (A4?) and fit it securely shows you've made the effort.
I wouldn't pull you for it so it must be OK
i think doing it in black and white is a much better idea, i've towed my daughters horse trailer around for many years with this technique and
never had a problem.
I just wonder if trying to much a very good copy of a real would actually cause more issues
i've seen them scrawled on a bit of cardboard before and its fine. i shouldn't worry too much
we took a car over a fortnight ago
chalked on the number to the tail gate and only later did we find it was also the wrong reg oops
When in this position we have just cut a number plate sized piece of yellow vinyl and hand written the numbers with a marker pen- so long as restof
trailer and lights are in good order shouldn't cause any problems.
Thing that pisses me is trailers with no lights /indicators- usually agriucultural -around here
You can buy self adhesive vinyl blank number plate panels and mark them up with a permanent marker. Got mine from the local motor factors.

take the number plate off your car.
Surely you won't need a plate on the car and the trailer, will you?
Take the rear plate off your car and put it on the trailer sounds good to me
