England isn't sh*t...

The English football team is though!

Jon Ison - 27/6/10 at 03:47 PM

tbh we had a spell where we looked ok, it did turn on a very dodgy decision, when your chasing a goal or 2 you are wide open at the old rear end.

Not good enough I agree but not 1-4 bad either.

dazzx10r - 27/6/10 at 03:47 PM

hope they can sleep tonight with all that cash under the matress...... w@#kers.

carpmart - 27/6/10 at 03:50 PM

eddie99 - 27/6/10 at 03:52 PM

Very soundly I'm afraid......... and there in lies the problem

Richard Quinn - 27/6/10 at 04:07 PM

They only have momentary discomfort eased by huge salaries and endorsements. I, however, work for a German company and have already had my first text. It's going to be a long, long week!

http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/finance/jameshall/100005362/currys-world-cup-giveaway-has-ultimate-unintended-consequence/

Now they only have to pay the England team

Rek - 27/6/10 at 04:28 PM

I enjoyed the game... I spent it in the garage finishing off fitting an original spec exhaust to my capri and then went for a test drive on deserted roads....

I didn't - until I heard a cheer so loud I stopped welding and went to look at the score. It's been very quiet since.

That could have been 8-1 and there could have been no complaints.

PSpirine - 27/6/10 at 04:59 PM

Probably would've been a better matched game if it was Algeria - Germany...

Johneturbo - 27/6/10 at 05:03 PM

How come they play so well with their clubs!!? but once it's england they are crap
maybe they play to many games during the season

I find it always funny that football-players get that amount of money, without education or normal behavior...

Jon, this probably sums up my view too...certainly not good enough but 4-1 was not a fair reflection IMO...and without the disgraceful decision who knows what might have been...oh well back to car building...

Classic free market/capitalist economics. Supply and demand, good players are rare, so supply is low so the price goes up. As for the behaviour - give any 18 year old £50k a week and you'll find it's perfectly normal...

I do find it amazing that the manager is on such a huge basic salary though, make it performance related - worth about what he gets now if they get to the final, double it if he wins, if they don't reach the final stage he gets nowt. Any manager with confidence in his own abilities should jump at the chance.

Which begs the question who pays for it? Better not be me!
