I'm considering buying some french doors and fitting them myself. I've watched UPVC windows being fitted but have never attempted it myself, although they don't look too difficult to fit. Does anybody in the know have any tips or advice?

Second that, find a local window fitter & ask him if he'll do a pj for you one sat/sun (£50 - £100) and buy the doors yourself from b&q.

We were quoted about four times the amount it cost us in the end.

try rotherham trade windows, they will just supply or supply and fit!

dont know what they are like price wise for fitting but supply only they are spot on

Are you making a new hole in the wall for your doors, if so , lay lots of dust sheets down in the room.
Oh , and dont drop them.

Buy the way Phil, if you can build your own car, fitting french doors is easy, just make sure there plum and not twisted, and dont use hammer fixings, there crap.

Fitted two sets here, plus normal sized doors and a couple of windows, its a doddle honest.

Main thing is to make sure you fit them dead level and upright. Also you MUST pack the glass correctly or else the doors will not operate correctly. You wouldnt believe the amount of people saying" these doors are crap, they dont work or lock".Its down to bad fitting.

I'd suggest fitting them on your house rather than the car.....

Seems to me your trying to get your car out of the cold garage into the warm house

They look easy to fit. I watched the blokes fitting my conservatory. Piece of pee. Wish id done it myself and saved a few grand.

They used these long wall plug type things with long screws already half in them. Drilled into the wall tapped the plug in and did it up.
