I just bought a cheap Zoostorm PC from Ebuyer - for the price the spec is hard to beat, and it looks nice too.
It was £399 for quad core, 4Gb RAM, 650Gb HDD.

I would tend to say don't spend a fortune on a PC --- nobody uses them for games much any more (except MS Flight Sim nuts like) and unless
you want to do video editing even an entry level PC wiil do.
However look for a minium of 2+ GB ram Over 2 gb you want notice much if any improvement in performance but more RAM is always better. - --
Morgan computer company usually have a few end of line and ex-demo machines or rework with a full 1 year Manufacturers warranty. In 21 years of
dealing with Morgan I have never had a single problem with any PC suppliede by them.
Look at this one http://www.morgancomputers.co.uk/shop/detail.asp?ProductID=5214&CategoryID=142&SubCategoryID=358
It is HP factory rework but has full HP warranty

I tend to avoid HP stuff - when it does go south - it's non-generic, so more expensive.
HP stuff is good but I don't like how they tend to Captivate there components - when it's not THAT much better than other products on the
market.
BTW - Compaq branded products are now HP.
I tend to make my own from quality components to my own spec. - dont have much problem with my stuff - except when I bugger about with it trying to
make it do stuff it shouldn't....

Thanks for the replies,i've got a budget of £500 for everything including monitor but if i can get a machine for less i will be happy.
I've found a few companies that work around the £500 mark for an all in set up including 19" widescreen dual core 2.4ghz processor 4gb ram
512mb graphic card dvd re writer keyboard mouse speakers vista home.
I like though to purchase on recomendation so i'll take on board whats said and have a think.

Check Dell - usually very cheap.
If you're not living life on the edge you're taking up too much room.
