*&%&*$%£$*&% printer :-(

trying to print a simple letter.
makes all the right noises and nothing comes out on the paper.
renew ink cartridge,still the same any ideas before i attack it with my axe?
its a HP f390 btw

i once tested the flight carictaristics of a printer for doing something very similar to that i say smash it one....

i gave it a kick and swore a bit but still no joy,its only 6 months old as well,pity to die so young

Run the print head cleaning utility. Should be in the print options menu somewhere.

Keep running it until it works.

Usually cures it

There should be a button combination on the printer itself that will print it's own test page (rather than the Windows one).

See if that does anything. If it still comes out blank then its definately just the printer and time to dig out the receipt!

If it does print the test page then try the windows test page (inside the printer configuration).

tried all the test page stuff as well,makes all the right noises but no action
it printed the test page once when i first tried it but no more

after a bit more playing i can scan something and get it to print but it still ignores the fact i am trying to print a letter,after some more twiddling i got the message "no coms with printer",tried plugging the lead into various other ports and still the same error.
ill let it sweat it out tonight and see if it is co-operating by morning

wooooo hooooooo,dragged the old cartridge out of the bin and it works....now to hunt down a new cartridge tat works,cheers for your help peeps
