havent ever done a ds, but ive replace the screen on my mobile and can sympathise with you trouble! all i can suggest is keep trying, dont bother with metal tweezers really as it just rips the ribbon up, try and find a plastic pair, or try it with your fingers unless they are proper huge lol. All i can say is keep at it, itl slot in there eventually! try and find out exactly how the ribbon cable slots it, on my mobile it was held in with a tiny plastic clip, make sure yours isnt the same and you havent taken it off yet!

Have a look on YouTube, search for (something like) DS screen replacement, there are some very good video guides which take you through the process step by step.

Those clips are used in a lot of stuff now on ribbon type cables and are known as ZIF (zero insertion force) connectors.

Pop up the tab on them, slide in the wire and then push down the tab.
