DVD burner

Hey Up,

I've got a problem with the DVD burner in my laptop (HP pavilliondvd6000)

When I try to write a data DVD using windows (vista home pro) It goes through the entire process until the progress bar says "finaising disc" it hangs and won't progress.

The DVD shows no files when re inserted.

Any ideas?

cheers

Chris

Ive got the same slaptop burning stuff with Vista was as slow as a slow thing on slow street in slow town on a slow day.
Nero burning did it for me.
Go here and download Nero. http://nero.burning-9.com/?s=gouk&a=nerouk&gclid=CIXV58mnwZkCFdCS3wodBBM1ug

Does the drive read pre burned, or normal DVDs?

how about burn CDs (if it ever could)?

When did this start? Has it ever worked? Have you tried another brand of disks? Will it burn CD's? Have you tried a simulated write in nero, its a tick on the burn tab?

Try VSO converter, have a search on www.btjunkie.org for it or like with my comp i had to replace my drive as it had packed in, did same as your is doing, goes through whole process then wont finish right at end and nothing on the disk.

Your problem's that you're using nero! The only thing that burned when I was using it was cigarette after cigarette through frustration. I've got Roxio far easier even if they won't give me a replacement cd (barstuds)

try removing the driver and let vista re install it the driver may be corrupt. Even consider using recovery if the burner worked previously. I have a HP 6720s which had a dodgy cd drive failed afte first burn it is a litescribe unit check their website as this may be a common fault to your model
