Win 7 - Windows explorer problem

Hi All

I prefer the old XP way of viewing Win Explorer where the tree always remains on the left (the old traditional explorer view)rather than the new one where the tree vanishes all the time.

As I use lots of time skipping from file to file and from directory to directory can anyone help me in getting the traditional explorer window to show.

Not sure if it works under Win 7, but I have used the free version of PowerDesk for many years. It's a fairly basic file manager similar to Wiindows Explorer, but with built in capability to have dual panes, particularly useful if you often have to compare two folders or move stuff from one place to another. Both panes can have the folder list on the left and the files on the right.

Another alternative (again, not sure if it works in Win 7) is ExplorerXP, which has a tabbed interface.
