help please, someones using my email name

Ive just recieved an email apparantely from myself!! The email appeared in my inbox in outlook a few mins ago and it displays the sender as andrew.theasby but the actual email address is ooxeiar8981@rima-tde.net Its nothing to do with anything i know of, the subject is 'bowl with us' there are no attatchments and it just says
Operation's results http://96.parentrelax.ru/
What can i do to stop this person using my name? I realise its quite easy to send an email from outlook with a different name displayed, but there must be something i can do. Please can someone offer some suggestions as i dont like it! Thankyou in advance.

Speak to your ISP or mail supplier, they should have security help lines.

This happens very often.

The sender has falsified the header in the email with your name; it is a common practice with spammers.

I usually bounce them back to the sender and the chances are that you will not receive another one but it is nothing to get worried about.

Hope this helps
Tom

There's absolutely nothing you can do about it - delete it and ignore it. They use legitimate names/email addresses to try bypass spam filters. To do anything but ignore is simply wasting your time - they will have moved on to someone else now and by pursuing it through ISP security staff will just result in your address being blocked by spam filters and becoming unusable.

Either the spammer has picked up your address from some site or somebody you knows PC has been infected and the Outlook Address Book used for spamming.

First thing is to do a full virus sweep on your own PC just in case it has been turned into spam bot.
