Could be overheating due to dust build up in the vents.

My t23 did it, a blast with the airline sorted it.

Could be a dodgy cpu fan, give it a blow outbut wedge something into the fan whilst blowing out to stop it spinning too fast.

Cheers

Does it do it on battery or on charger or both?

Had an issue with my HP notebook where the charger circuit was intermittent causing it to trip a thermal fuse and switch off (not lock-up though).

Took out the heatsink fan assembly gave it a blow out, full of crap put some new thermal paste on the cpu seemed ok then started doing it again seems ok in safe mode. Ran checkdisk. no difference.
Getting ready to sling it now.
Does the same on batt and charger.
Cheers,
Bob
