PS3 RLOD Fix

morning all,

A mates PS3 recently suffered the RLOD, i said that i would have a look and see if i could fix it. He said it was working fine and then one day when he came to turn it on it just crashed and the RLOD came on.

after taking it apart (it had clearly been taken apart before!) i managed to follow the tutorials on YouTube and reassembled. it was now working i.e no RLOD, but when i turned the PS3 on and it starts to boot up it says that it can't recognise the hard drive and then it won't go past that screen?

Does the HDD need reformatting or have i missed something simple?

Alex

I'd imagine if it doesn't recognise it (as opposed to a problem with the data) then it's kaput or the cable's slightly loose. Check if there's a power and a data cable. Otherwise wouldn't hurt to reformat
